MANUFACTURING FINE MACHINERY IN THE FENS SINCE 1846

STANDEN ENGINEERING LTD - Our Brands

Company Profile

STANDEN ENGINEERING LTD is an independent privately owned company, manufacturers of STANDEN-PEARSON Potato Systems products and STANDEN-PEARSON POWAVATOR rotary tillers.

The STANDEN-PEARSON products include bed formers, rotary tillers, soil separators, potato planters, toppers, potato harvesters, as well as fluted roller, roller table and star separation units for harvester or grading line applications. We offer machines for onion, carrot, red beet, swede, parsnip and turnip topping and harvesting. Many STANDEN-PEARSON innovations are protected by worldwide patents.

STANDEN-PEARSON Potato Systems also include products imported from the Netherlands; BASELIER hook-tine cultivators, and BASELIER potato toppers. PLOEGER self-propelled potato harvesters, KEULMAC onion toppers, onion windrowers, and MACLOUIS onion toppers complete the range.

STANDEN-PEARSON Potato Systems are marketed through a worldwide dealer network.

STANDEN REFLEX is our specialist subsidiary; importers of HOLMER sugar beet harvesters, HOLMER sugar beet cleaner-loaders, HOLMER Systems Tractors, BERGMANN spreaders and ZUNHAMMER slurry systems. SIMON carrot, red beet, swede, turnip and parsnip harvesters, HERRIAU precision drills for vining peas, sugar beet, fodder beet, borage, maize, and JUKO potato harvesters complete a range of machines marketed directly to grower and contractor customers.

STANDEN also offers sub-contract engineering services to many different industries.

STANDEN employs around 75 people and is managed by a board of six directors; Owen Blake (Managing + Finance), Doug Carter (Production), Richard Holmes (Design + Development), Alex Mathias (Marketing), Andy Reedman (Sales), Alan Winter (Service). Andy Bone (Chairman/Director) continues to make a valuable contribution. The company is privately owned by its shareholders, most of whom hold key positions within STANDEN

During 2001 STANDEN purchased the intellectual property rights, manufacturing rights, engineering machinery and more for the Dowdeswell range of powered soil cultivation machinery and bedformers. These include the POWAVATOR rotary tiller, and 2-bodied and 4-bodied BEDFORMER ranges, all of which are now manufactured in Ely.

In 2003 STANDEN ENGINEERING LTD acquired the potato machinery business of Richard Pearson Ltd, along with their patents and intellectual property rights. The well known MEGASTAR, MAXISTAR, QM, ENTERPRISE and GALAXY machines were then manufactured by STANDEN at Ely.

That later lead to the creation of the STANDEN-PEARSON Potato Systems line of machinery and the change of colour to STANDEN blue for all our manufactured machines.

Potato growers all over the world benefit from the unique technology advantages and outstanding performance offered by STANDEN-PEARSON products.
